Don Madge
FIGHTER.
COACH.
COMPETITOR.
Years of professional competition shaped how I approach training. Now I use that experience to help fighters, grapplers and athletes perform better.
The goal isn't complicated: train with purpose, understand why you're doing the work, and build qualities that actually transfer to performance.

Coaching Philosophy
TRAIN WITH
PURPOSE.
Training should solve a problem. Every session, exercise and progression needs a reason for being there.
My approach combines martial arts experience with structured strength and conditioning. The objective isn't to make fighters train like powerlifters, bodybuilders or endurance athletes. It's to develop the physical qualities that support better performance in combat sports.
That means building strength without unnecessary fatigue, developing power that transfers to athletic movement, improving conditioning for the demands of competition, and organising the work so it complements technical training rather than competing with it.
SPECIFIC
Train qualities that have a clear purpose for the athlete and the sport.
STRUCTURED
Progress the work over time instead of collecting random hard sessions.
SUSTAINABLE
Strength and conditioning should support martial arts training, not constantly compromise it.
